A lack of bees.

With all the Thyme in my garden, and geranium Macrrhorizum as well, I usually have a ton of bees all over. Not this year. It’s worrying.

No bees or buyyerflies here, either. Fewer housemartins, swallows and swifts, too.
The bed is beautiful.

Thank you Ange. I have done everything I can to help the Bees. It’s worrying.

Karen, that is a very well filled flower bed. I sat out yesterday, in the shade of the Grapevine and was disappointed at how few Bees, Hoverflies and Butterflies were in the garden. I think we have only seen three or four Butterflies this year and, as you say, it is concerning. Plenty of birds as we have feeders in the shade and water bowls for them. There was a Fox in the garden one evening having a drink of water!

Ah…well Foxes are wonderful, but not great pollinators! I’ve done all I can Shirley. Just have to hope they come soon. X

Karen, that did make me smile! Here's a strange thing, this morning at 5am, I looked through the kitchen window to a Salvia shrub moving side to side, no wind blowing, how odd! I then saw a couple of huge Bumble Bees within it, so perhaps they are early risers and gone before we know it!

Such a pretty bed but a shame about the lack of bees. Around us there have been a large number of swarms and our bees are doing very well in all this heat!
