As with the Mamey sapote, this green sapote has a lot of die-back due to very little water. This tree is probably 25 ft or more tall, unlike the Mamey sapote which is only around 20 ft. It’s amazing to me the dead growth doesn’t get trimmed off. Green sapote is slightly hardier than the very tropical Mamey sapote. It can grow in the San Francisco Bay Area. This tree has old dried fruit on it. Photo taken Oct. 15, 2023.
