Its taken years to find a spot in winter that keeps this plant red in winter, and not burn in summer. With Donkeytail sedum.

Stan,
It looks great! My friend has tons of different species and varieties in his front yard. He’s going to thin them out and give me all the cuttings. I love the pink, orange, yellow, white and red ones. They add so much color to the landscape without having flowers.

They can be tricky to place. Too much sun and they burn, too little and they don't color up. Easy to keep alive, harder to get the best color out of many of them.

They typically like dappled sun. Some like a lot of sun, though. It depends on the species.
My Aechmea love it under the big jacaranda tree. They’ve been there for probably 18 years.
