Apples n Pears

There were four 'plants' here when I moved in, a Leylandii hedge, an ancient woody Lavender and congested Apple and Pear trees. The Leylandii and Lavender are gone and the fruit trees have been pruned by a third. They'll need some more attention next Winter.
In the photo, the Apple's on the left and the Pear on the right.

Muddy, do you know the varieties of the fruit? Cookers or eaters for the apples?

Thanks Hywel.
Shirley, the pear is Doyenne du Comice. When I visited with the Estate Agent last Autumn I pinched a couple off the tree (property was empty) and they were sweet and juicy, but the apples had already fallen some time before and were beyond sampling. I’m excited to find out!

The pears are a lovely variety aren't they?

I’m ever so glad there was something worth saving. But you have a blank canvas otherwise. Looking forward to watching it develop! We’ll be working together, but far apart! Will be great to compare as your soil is loam and mine is heavy clay.

And possibly similar size plots? Mine is about 10m x11m.
