This plant has giant leaves and can grow very large in time. Photo taken at the Realization Gardens in Encinitas, CA. On February 23, 2024.

They grow fast if you fertilize and water a lot. I took a little cuttings off a plant that was frozen back in the 1990 freeze by the old Hayward Civic Center. The side-shoot was only 4 inches tall in spring of 1991. It grew to be huge monster by 1999. I sold it to Sonny Garcia, who was a famous garden guy in San Francisco.

These were very popular in the 60's. I still see some near buildings close to lake Merritt. I have a small cutting of one in a gallon pot. Taking it's time though..
