I know a lot of gardeners aren’t keen on yellow flowers, but look! How pretty and cheering and absolutely inoffensive is this?

Karen, I like to have yellow flowers in my garden as it is the clearest colour Michael recognises with his colour blindness. That is a very pretty Verbascum.

Janey, I struggled with the pure white one and it is absolutely lovely.
That’s great then Shirley. Lots of cheerful yellow for you!

Yellow is a favourite of mine. At some points the border is full of it! This is an attractive verbascum, auseful exclamation mark. Is it perennial?

Yes Ange, although I think they are very short-lived.

Thanks, Karen. I have mauve ones and they seed all over. That's fine as the insects love them and they don't take up much room.

Karen - check out verbascum chaixii. There are white and yellow forms, both with a dark eye to the flowers. Being a species, they will come true when they self seed

Yes it's very pretty Karen. I've had a few Verbascums for years, a beautiful white one at one point, they are a lovely plant.
