Thanks Angela. I had to remove the leader which was dead, so was worried. But since then it has gone from strength to strength.

It's certainly flourishing well. Can't beat addition of Nemesia too!

The blackbirds have snaffled all the cherries on my newish tree. When I first tried them they were too sour to pick, then days later 'whoosh' they were gone...

You definitely need to net your cherries Ange. Otherwise the blackbirds take them all.
