This is one of very many large Nikau palms growing at the San Francisco Botanical Gardens. Photo taken on February 19, 2025.

I can’t believe how large all those Rhopalostylis have gotten over the last 20 yers. The Howeas have gotten big, also.

Last i saw they were just fronds no trunk. Somethings grow faster in SF than in the rest of the bay. Never a frost or lows in the 30's. Always 40f above.
