Narcissus 'Georgie Boy'

Narcissus 'Georgie Boy'

I bought these in February from the garden centre for £1 for a bag full and thought I didn't have much to lose if they didn't come up. I had a brother George so had to take the chance. Late flowering but more than happy with them.

Great deal on such cheerful early spring flowers.
Mine are just starting to bloom. We are way behind English spring this year and it is raining a lot.

Great memory of your brother...Thorneyside.

It is Meadowland and with this morning's sun lots more out today. I believe it was named when Prince George was born but not sure.
We've not had rain for weeks Klahanie so I connected my hose at the weekend after it was put away for winter. We had so much rain since October that I used the water butt for anything I needed and the river at the bottom of my garden has only just started to go down.

George is lovely, such pale colours.

Do you have an easy access (all year round) to the river at the bottom of your garden Thorneyside ?

Thank you Shirley Tulip and yes to your question Klahanie, although it is a small river it still gets pretty deep. It's an off shoot of the River Colne which was under flood alert for months this winter. We are forecast for rain tonight, first for weeks so might not have to use the hose this week although I only water pots, not the garden. Most things get water from the water table underneath them. Two wet winters saw a lot of my plants "drown" from too much water below.

Thank you for your answer Thorneyside. We have a spot on our property which we think that has a water spring under ground. When I dig a hole it fills with a water so I feel for your drown plants as I got some too.
Is there any fish or other wildlife in (on) the river by your place?
