Ah thank you Shirley, I think I should have cut it back a bit more in spring as it's got no fresh growth at the base

I have the same problem here ... there is a mauve Clematis growing through the Rambling Rector rose ... lots of buds ready to open at the top but impossible to see the lower growth!

A very pretty one there, Jane! Lovely colouring and form.

Thanks Kate, it has 2 single flowers the other side now :-)
