Are these mushrooms?

I think it best to call them Fungi, In case they are confused with the edible kinds which we know as Mushrooms. Thse are said to be edible when young and quite tasty. However as they age they go brown, even a day later it shows, and once mature explode at the slightest touch and release a cloud of spores which I am sure could upset sensitive noses.. I wouldn't eat them myself. Reference ' Mushrooms a colour guide' Published by Octopus.
