I believe it's a common fruit bat.

We have bats in our loft-space! We usually see them at dusk flitting around. Not this year, though. :-(

Are there two bats here? It looks as though the one facing us is holding onto one, with it back to us.... I'm kind of afraid of bats, but this one has a sweet face :)

yeah, it's a mother and a young one. not exactly a baby, but not full grown either.
