Narcissus 'Reinveld's Early Sensation' (Narcissus 'Reinveld's Early Sensation')

This daff opened its bud yesterday - December 4th! This is over four weeks earlier than I've ever had one flowering before. Is this a record?

I trolled the net for an answer Andrew and found that a daffodil flowered in Wales in December last year. BUT the date on the photograph is the 7th December so you may have the earliest!!
Kew are running a timeline on this - here is a site to have a look at

There are daffodils flowering in a garden at Kilve, just along the coast from us (West Somerset). I don't of course know the variety! Your daffodil has the right name, doesn't it! :-)

What a pleasure to have this cheerful flower with such rotten weather, flowers are small wonders !

That certainly makes the winter seem shorter!
Are you trying for a November daffodil in 2008? :o)

That depends entirely on the weather. But then I've currently got a weigela flowering for the second time this year and lychnis chalcedonica has already flowered twice
