Hi Maple, What you can actually see is the silver coloured reverse to the needles.

Ohhhh so it's all this silver colour underneath? Wow. I have to say I've never been that impressed with conifers but you have led me to look at them in a whole new light. This one looks like another I might have to look at getting! You have a convert here

Maple, makes my life worthwhile if I can convince just one other person that conifers used correctly in the gardening landscape are not as boring as many people would have you believe.

I love looking at your garden, bluespruce, I definitely don't think conifers are boring! It must be very satisfying when you are able to look at what you've achieved, yes, you specialise, but so what? It's still a beautiful garden! :-)
