Tobacco Tree

This tree is not the most attractive tree but it is a hummingbird magnet. It is actually a weed and grew to a height of 16 feet in the first growing season. It is now in its second season. It is also called loco weed by many of the local people. It is rumored (and I use that term literally based on my sources) that ancient Indians used to smoke it (peace pipes, I guess) and it caused them to have visions and act "Loco". Its very prolific and I'm constantly removing new growths but I do love the hummingbirds.

I like this tree because nobody else did yet! If attracts humming birds that's good enough for me! Fascinating to hear gardening problems from a totally different climate.
I've only been to California, but would love to see more of USA. Your pics and comments give a little insight.
I saw humming birds in Yosemite, and thought they were big bugs of some kind! I like your bird pics too.
