Yes lots of beds perennial geraniums like this fuschia's companion and we are lucky to have forget-me-nots, honesty, sweet rocket and Icelandic poppies , mainly yellow but some more orange too, that seed themselves all over the place and make a super display in spring and early summer. Not sure of the difference between Welsh poppies and what we call Icelandic poppies. Perhaps they are the same flower given a different name in different areas or perhaps they are slightly different plants .
My favourite geranium is the macrorrhizum group because they have done me such a favour with the ground elder. My wife's favourite is Magnificum.

For so many reasons hardy fuchsias should be grown more. I have some 60 varieties. One of my employers has over 100. Guess where mine came from.

Not really. I belong to the local club and I would guess that we have at least 120 varieties amongst us. A nice display garden is slowly beginning to advance our cause.

The reason I like them so much is that they thrive on neglect. I just cut them right back in the spring and always think I've killed them! They start late, but stay until the frost comes. This is not a flattering picture unfortunately. I must look in my archives and see if I can find a better one.
