Eucalyptus deglupta (Rainbow Eucalyptus) hails from the rainforests of Mindanao, which is the southernmost and easternmost island in the Philippine island group. It grows in the coastal areas of California...and attains a height of more than 100 feet.
This is a rain forest tree and therefore not drought-tolerant.

These trees usually have very dense canopies. However, here they should be thinned because the wind may blow down large branches...in nature they grow in tropical rain forest where they grow in dense groves which are protected from high winds.
Here in Southern California we have Santa Ana Winds which can be very strong and very hot and dry...which can cause many problems with tall trees.
We are in Santa Ana season (end of September to April or May) right now.
