Hi Andrea
Thanks for the comments. I am in Australia mate , nice hot climate for Bougainvilleas. Its really important they have the heat !
Bougainvilleas are fantastic, the more you neglect them ,the better they grow.
I planted this one about a year ago and I'll be buggered if I can remember the damn variety, so sorry I cant answer that, must look and see if I can find the label !
I dont know if they grow in the U.K being a totally different climate.
No Worries
Michelle :-)

Great photo. I just came back from a trip to Israel where the bouganvilleas were in bloom in January. I live in Hungary so everything is brown when it's not white with snow. We have hot summers though and many plants get scorched. I guess you have a similar problem.

Oh struth!! You lucky Sheila! I love Australia, well from what I've seen on the tv and everyone I know from there always have a sunny disposition. It is definitely on my list of things to do before I die to visit and take a long, long holiday.
I am going to try and grow a bouganvillea glabra which looks like the one you have there in a really hot spot and give it plenty of winter protection.

Hi Michelle, are you in the UK? I really love Bougainvillea and it is my wish to grow one outside in the UK. I will be in the Isle of Wight soon and the temperatures are a little higher than the rest of the UK.
How do you look after it and do you know the variety?
Many thanks
Andrea
