Philodendron flower

About as long as a pen. This was the only time I caught this one open. This is what I saw that sold me on this plant at the store three years ago.

What a beautiful flower. Isn't it unusual for them to flower?

It is. I was so pleased. I've four buds, this is the only one I've seen open. It has dropped two as well just out of the bllue. A little touchy.
