I've probably misunderstood you, but why do you have to travel somewhere for breakfast ?
I know I'm daft sometimes.

Lol. No, its a sunday occasion. 11am. Probably the only reason I'd leave my house over my weekend, if I can help it.

lovely GT..and have not had Breakfast out in ages..sounds so fun. Snowing driving to breakfast so Alaskan of you..lol..but I do rememeber working in a cafe many years ago when the power went out..we had power there..it was a heavy snow...and people were coming in on snowmobiles and ski's!! I had a 4 wheel drive so had made it in from 40 miles away to work...better than those living closer by..lol...sold lots and lots of steaming hot chocolate and pancakes that day..!

It my Sunday thing, getting ready now. We choose little local diners, where the staff recognize us and all that hometown stuff. :-) Our winters are filled sith snowmachines. They have taken over ski, snowshoes and dogsled easily. We have an event called Iron Dog where snowmachines race the iditarod trail instead of dog sled. People buy them for their kids, which I don't agree with, they drive around the streets in town.

My late husband and I used to love to walk to a favorite cafe..there is a trail head not far from my house..we could take that, it would take us down town..if we wished..we were both early risers and so it was a perfect walk to breakfast... :) I am not so good at it alone..but do enjoy it if one of my daughters join me these days..we are all on such different schedules it is rare....but it it was like you said..small town..everyone knows everyone..very enjoyable..and no I do not agree with letting youngsters drive those machines around town...dangerous I would think...
