Alaska Range in the distance

I'll have to get it just right at sunset. 18,000 ft peaks about 180 miles from here. I've been waiting to catch a good pic, today was good enough.

I've been driving with camera since spring for a clear sunset day with alpine glow, but so cloudy this year. I'll get a better shot one day. :-)

Mt Mckinley is just off the right of this picture, tallest peak in North America. Doesn't show nearly as often, usually just a shroud of cloud. Better looking from the south anyway. :-)

I have chill bumps running up and down my arms from just looking at the snow in this photo !

This was a warm day. Before it really snowed. We're pretty socked in now. But the otherworldy days of alaska winter are yet to start, though we're on the threshold.
