Hi Tina, I'm not sure what the species is called. It is a black colored swan. We have ones that are all white and then ones that are white and black mixed. They are not native here. As the story goes, the original mute white swans were a gift from Queen Elizabeth in the 1950s. The city takes care of them and protects their breeding areas. I'm not sure if the ones now are all descendants of the original swans.
