These are a very pretty color....what are those fuzzy looking leaves above the flowers?

Janette,are these Gentians?.They are a lovely colour.We tried growing some years ago but sadly lost them so never tried since.I read that some species are hardier than others,but i do admire them

Yes Tina they are Gentians I hope these do well I have only just planted them out in the last few days

I hope they do well for you as well.The one that I think is quiet hardy is a darker blue,I just wish I could remember the name of it.After we lost ours I sort of lost interest in them and never bothered after that.I tried Eidelwiess{spelling} and that gave up the ghost as well.Too much watching the Sound Of Music me thinks lol...

I have one thats much darker than this one Tina ,so fingers crossed I might manage to get one to survive the winter
