Head torches and fleece protection! 9.30pm on 26 October

After a quick supper we went out again with our head torches. With the forecast of frost we thought we had better move quickly. Like intrepid explorers we searched out the sensitive plants from the jungle and moved them to the garage...... however we found another 6 frost sensitive plants after we thought we had finished!
Then we thought about all those begonia flowers and what a shame if they are all gone by Wednesday when the film crew come. We had wanted to show how begonias can flower well into October and so we decided to cover three or four of the more splendid displays with fleece tonight...... then we kept going. We probably wrapped about 20.
Our son came out and captured us on camera. Just as well we're both as mad as one another! We came in at 9.30pm. Our neighbours will get a shock if they look out of the window during the night since the draped plants look like a large family of Halloween ghosts!!!

Oh, how dedicated you are, I was snuggled up on the sofa with a good book at 9.30. Well done.

Yes, your secret night-time work looks very much like a Hallowe'en display! Just add a few orange masks.
When the film crew arrive, I hope everything in your garden is exactly as you would hope.
You've worked very hard and deserve success with your projects :o)
