Your comment reminded me of years ago, when I worked in London, close to the Zoo, I would spend lunch hours in the Hummingbird house, especially in the winter, because it was heated to tropical temperature. I was nearly always the only one in there - pure magic, as they whirred all around me, going from plant to plant. Thanks for the memory jog!

What a nice memory for you...i would have loved that too...my dad was the great hummingbird feeder at our home ass I grew up...he had one right at the dining room window...so we spent many meals with hummingbirds whirring in and about fighting and eating away.

How cool! That is a neat bloom. I wonder if it is a type of aloe. Some get orange/red blooms on the end of a stem like that.
