Gardengem,

Do you know the name of these palms?
Anyway, if you don't they're Dypsis decaryi - Triangle Palms.
I have posted photos of this palm which is very common in
San Diego, actually, most of Southern California.

Thanks D. I didn't have the name for these. A neat palm, but I don't see it grown often here. They have 3 "sides" to their trunk, so they are kind of triangular.

Gardengem,

The 3 ranking of the fronds on the trunk is what gives it the common name...triangle palm.
These trees are very easy to grow from seeds; sprouting in only a week or so. The seedling grow initially slowly, however, as they get larger they grow moderately-fast especially in the ground.

Gardengem and Delonix1...in the pic they appear silvery and not very green...is that just the angle of light that produces that effect or is the foliage silvery?

I guess my comment didn't go through....Hi Lori, I posted up 2 other pics of this palm. This pic was taken towards the evening, so the light is very orange. They seem to be a lighter green.

Thanks Gardengem!
