This was reported in the doggie newspapers a few weeks ago.
A very fit Sheltie - an agility champion and family pet - ate a toxic toadstool and the vets tried everything but could not save the dog. So sad. :o(

I have quite a few in the grass on the far side of the yard. Thanks for the tip - I'll pull them , as the neighbours dog visits there frequently, even if Whiskey does'nt go that far over...

Good idea Grammazoo ~
Dogs are so quick, sometimes they've swallowed something before you realise it. Better clear the fungi away just in case they aren't safe. :o)

It's a fantastic photo, Jacque - best removed, though.
Henry is back eating yew berries again - luckily, he doesn't chew them, he just hoovers them up. I get so cross with him! Unfortunately, we have to go down the path where the yew trees are to go anywhere!
I tried sweeping them up. It's impossible, they just go squish and stick to the broom and leave the rest on the path. Labradors are just stomachs on legs. He does worry me, though!

Are these in your garden?
A 3 year old Sheltie recently died from eating toxic toadstools, so if you aren't sure, please keep Summer away. Just in case.
