Upper garden in the snow 28 October

Upper garden in the snow 28 October

The snow is frozen on top of the fleece we put over the begonias two nights ago. We intended quickly whipping off the fleece in the morning before the film crew arrive. Now the fleece is firm, like a mould, cocooning the plants. When we remove it we will probably lose all the flowers. We had it so immaculate this morning!

I'm assuming this was very unexpected...

We had about an inch of snow but the temperature plummeted last night and all the leaves on every plant are stiff with ice. I don't remember snow in October in the West Midlands, though 1974 has been mentioned. The last time it fell in London in October was in 1934!

I'm still hopeful the BBC can make a good story out of this.
Something about global warming? Lol

Certainly, global warming doesn't really lead to hotter weather - just freak weather. This year we had our heaviest snowfall on 6 April!

I can feel your new blog coming on ~
Fourseasons weird weather.
Seems like you get four seasons in every season.

Very difficult for you and hubby to plan anything.
Considering this year's odd weather,
your garden is more than fab ~
It's fantastic. :o)
