Dont stop trying Janette - takes a long time for them to stay in one place.
Ps they love meal worms and now is the best time of year to capture them as making territories so may well be a regular visitor.

~ I went into the garden to put food on the bird table and didn't see the robin until I was about to tip the seed~only a couple of feet away! he was a bit startled, and flew away~ will have to take the camera out!~
~A few weeks ago there was no seed and he sat there and scolded me~

My parents always used to have porridge for breakfast during the Winter and my Mum always scraped the pan out and put the waste on the lawn and the Robin was always waiting, same place, same time. Guess its about routine.

Might give this a go as well Dawnsaunt I have porridge some mornings ,on second thoughts the poor Robin wouldnt be able to fly, my porridge is very thick and lumpy lol

My mother would have us throw handfulls of uncooked dry oatmeal from the box out on top of the snow for the birds when I was little, that was the only bird feeing we ever did .

Might just give the uncooked porridge a go,sounds like an easier option CJ

I'm going to get some dried meal worms but we seem to have loads of magpies and they steal most things before the smaller birds get a look in. Dawn
