This is a plant of this year's rooted cuttings and I shall harvest the tuber next month.
Most begonias have hairy stems.
The pressence of sides shoots on the side of the main cutting stem almost esnures that there is a tuber in the compost.
It was rooted in coir compost and potted upin JI2.

I do not use chemical controls now Lois plays in my greenhouses.
She never touches the blooms but she has freedom to water and plant seeds.
I use predators in the form of packets hung around the plants and the wee terros consume the undesirables!
I get them from a Firm named Defenders who despatch them when ordered on the net.
I also use their products for contgrol vineweevil and slugs.
