Lemon Balm

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)

Ok this herb can take over your herb garden a bit if you don't keep it in tact, I think it's one of the most powerfully scented ones as well and the leaves are lush green. You can also buy a variegated type - the leaves are yellow tipped & green.

Have you tried Lemon Verbena? It smells like old fashioned lemon sweets - you know the sort that contained lemon sherbert - the lemon fragrence is stronger than the balm and you can also use it in ice cubes and deserts.

Thank you!
