Not sure Gillb, maybe not enough sunshine.....this lookes really gorgeous last year!

If the other plants came in faster than the glad, they could have prevented the sun from reaching glad plant...does your weather get cold enough to freeze the bulb?

Could well be lack of sun the red scabius to the left of it did realy well this year, and a campanula behind it had a realy good show. It did send up some leaves so fingers crossed for next year. I have had to move the scabious as it was far to vigarous for the small flower bed.
