Rockingham Castle

Beautiful scenery.
Have you been inside the castle ?

Its a lovely place to visit Eileen beautiful view,s over the Welland Valley ,
I,ve visited the castle a great number of times TT its only a few minutes from home I love the gardens On your travels around this county ,have you every visited Kirby Hall ? they have the most beautiful Elizabethen gardens ,worth a visit :)

I'm usually on my way to dog shows when I'm in Northants region, so not visiting stately homes and the like, but there are certainly some lovely views in your county. :o)

We use to go for picnics with the children when they were small to Kirby Hall , the children had a great time running through the ruins , up and down stairs , nobody was looking after it or in charge ,
We called in on a nostalgic trip not long ago and were quite disappointed to find that it is now looked after by , I think it was English Heritage and we had to pay to go in ........ LOL

We used to do the same with our children Amy, when they were little it was a great place to have picnics and at that time free now they charge you £5.50 to get in ,well that was last year and we paid it ,well I did want to see the gardens,back to there orginal glory .We might even have been there at the same time Amy I used to go in the eightys oh my thats seem to be a long time ago lol....

Oh my Janette .... dosn,t time fly it must have been late 70s early 80s , yes we could have been there at the same time .....

I suppose it,s a good thing that these buildings are being protected really !!
