I raise these Monarchs, I grow butterfly weed, and the caterpillars mature there(all milkweed really)but did you know that birds will not eat the caterpillers, because it is poisenes for birds, that is why so many butterflys look alot like Monarchs !!
Also I grew Coneflowers from seed, many years ago, and every year I throw them where I want them to grow, and now have them all over, and my Finchies love the seeds !!

Margrit, this butterfly picture is beautiful..I have never thought about raising my own butterflies...sounds very interesting....I'll bet your place is very wonderful..
