Polka Dot Plant blooming

I find these always go thin and spindley.

Heavy grooming might keep them thick, I'm gonna see what this does after flowering and maybe even crop it down. Depending on how willing to branch it seems right then.

Did you grow it from seed?

It was a tiny little gift plant from a coworker. I haven't noticed it producing much seed. I'll have to watch since this one may have outgrown being sensibly kept. I'll make cuttings should it pass from a hard cut.

A long time ago, I bought a packet of seeds and grew lots of plants - then I sold them at school for school funds! They were very popular - all pink speckly ones and easy to grow. I might try again now you've reminded me how attractive they are!

These plants seem to do best when the flowers are cut off...I grew these for many years and always would cut the flowers off...they tend to thin out if allowed to flower.

Generally, it is grown as a ground cover here.

First time I see one bloom. Enjoy!

Not hardy here - grown as houseplants! Must try to get some seeds.
