Elephants on the High Street! A common sight! This one is called Laxmi.

Founded by the Portuguese who civilised it. Then it was the British who had it, they left in 1961. The main road in Calangute was built in the 80's for Margaret Thatchers visit!
The elephants do need proper feeding, the cows and pigs eat up the vegetable matter left out by restaurants etc. but that is not enough for these big guys!
Life is slow, very laid back and chilled. Why do today what you can do tomorrow...or next week!
