I have tried some Aloe Vera products, which i have been impressed with, but not the plant, yet.

you just slice off an inch ot two cut it open and apply the juice. its amazing.

I shall have to try it.
What happens to the plant? Does the leaf grow back, or just stay as it is? I assume it must seal itself where it's been cut?

It is used for skin irritation as well, the sap is applied to an open sore, it works, for pimples as well. I've seen people do this here.

A healthy specimen. Have you ever used it medically for burns or insect bites? It's great.
