Very interesting, are these all your own grafts, and what cultivars are pictured ?

Is it because germination of abies seed is so slow and eratic that they graft onto rootstock? seems like a lot of work.

The oldest cat Squirt used this keyboard as a box . The smell is awful . Abies for the most part can not tolerate our summer soil temps. , so most cultivars are grafted onto firma . These were customed for me from fellow members of the ACS . The bulk were koreana 'Silberlocke' , 'Oberon' , 'Silberreif' , 'Blauer Pfiff' and pinsapo 'Aurea' and 'Glauca' . Just ornamentals and almost all sold .
