Thanks Magnoliatree. I'm sad to say the weather while I was away has done these ones in. I've had to pull them out and hang them under the carport with brown paper bags over the seed heads.

Never mind, eh? There's always next year. I find the gardening cycle so reassuring.

Indeed, with the seeds I've collected this year I should be able to get a nice show again next year. You're right there is something comforting about knowing what the garden will do at certain times of the year.
