I love these flowers. This is what I wish I could grow in my back shady bed. And cone flowers, and zinnias and daisies and . . . everything that won't grow in the shade.

I have to say Judi, these are so hardy they pretty much grow anywhere. I would give 'em a try. Really, this is growing like crazy in my yard, wherever I pant it It does well...they get really full and big and bloom for a long time. Just lovely. But I hear ya, I love flowers and I am constantly trying to figure out what will work...
I can't imagine that in Texas you have all that much shade!! lol...it's so Dang hot there! ;-)

Well it is hot here, thats for sure. My problem is the way the house is layed out on the lot. The flowerbed that is in the back, by the patio, is constantly in shade because of the eaves :(
I dont think any flowers will grow but Im going to give it a try.

They're very pretty! This is also called Rudbeckia, correct? I've got a photo of these on my 'Goldsmith' blog.
