~soak it in boiling water for a few minutes to soften before you put the milk and sugar in? I do this and it takes less time to cook and is always soft. I never go off recipe times but cook until it is as I want it!
Add more milk if drying out and last of all a before serving add cream or evap milk and stir it in,pop back in the cooker for five minutes. For a change put a large spoonfull of a nice fruit jam on the top.

Arlene I hope you weren't referring to the bird ….”~soak IT in boiling water for a few minutes to soften before you put the milk and sugar in? I do this and it takes less time to cook and is always soft.”

Although I admit to having eaten crow before. It was quite an honor given to me by the Lummi tribe
Very dark meat, much like my Silky chickens.

Another bird tail. On Vancouver Island a pair of white (not albino) Ravens were sighted. This brought in bird watchers from all over. This was a major biggie for the Native Americans as well.
