We get very little snow as we are so near to the coast, which juts out into the Bristol Channel. One of these rare occassions I wrote this
Pathway to Heaven.
The snow fell silent in the night,
The dawn beheld a brilliant light,
When to the window to behold,
A land of white, a sky of gold.
In haste I dressed and downward sped,
Welcomed the dawn in its blanketed bed,
Donned my boots and made my way,
Down an untouched path at the break of day.
How blessed was I, to be the first
To dent the snow and capture the thirst
Of the rising sun, in a tinted sky,
Only the birds, the sun and I.
