As I walked out into the village the other piece of Pathway to Heaven was created in my head:-
The Village slept, the curtains closed,
A muted crunch beneath my toes
Here in the road I gasped with glee,
With pictures painted on every tree.
Trees and shrubs in the gardens flushed,
Like icing from a frosting brush.
This roadway here beneath my feet,
Pathway to heaven in a silent street.
Oh why must every one arise?
And break this spell beneath the skies.
Tarnishing pictures I behold,
As sheep lie safely in their fold.
Yet, how could I so selfish be?
To keep these moments just for me.
Then as I see the curtains drawn,
I bid good buy, to my perfect morn.

Great idea DD. It could be called Poetry Grows On You. The money raised could support some kind of garden.

Very clever, so many poets on this site.....perhaps you all should publish these poems now there is a thought, and the money raised go to a charity?
