Moose Tracks in the Garden

Ha. Good old Bullwinkle.

They were around for about a week, right in the neighborhood. I usually only see the yearlings or the mother alone.

The only thing I have to worry about in my garden is slugs and snail,do they eat many of you plants Greenthumb?

we dont have any of them....just the odd fox,,,

We have a resident fox, too, Sandra. A very handsome one. We used to put out old bones for him, but as one of our neighbours now keeps chickens we thought it best not to encourage him (the fox I mean!)

Trying to toss up whether I would prefer a moose to a mole in my garden. Not sure about that.

I have lost sunflowers, came out one day and all the thick buds where missing. I almost lost some pea's but that was a yearly and I slapped my hands at him. They might run at something new. An adult might just come stomp you if I chose. I just let those be. Alot of veggie gardens here have six foot fences. Marigold and coriander I plant to keep them off. They'll mask the more fresher, greener smells that attract the moose.

I haven't had a fox around since years ago. I would just love it. I grew up with them around all the time.

i saw three down the field last week. i thought three was an odd considering its the breeding season...

I think they are in groups of males and females alone right now. The breeding season is late summer. They have newborns in march and april, sometimes early as february.
