This shows the degree of the slope to the front yard and also shows the dry nature of our location.

Very beautiful country! It look very secluded and peaceful and quiet.
You probably wouldn't like to live where I'm located - in the middle of a
large city (San Diego, CA - 7th largest city in the U.S.) of more than 1.2 million people. You have to deal with noisy cars, helicopters, planes, firetrucks...and the list goes on.

No Delonix1 having lived in a much bigger city than this one I must admit I like this location - in a semi-rural area about 20 kilometres out of the city in the hills. I love being surrounded by the bush and it is very peaceful and quiet - visitors often complain that all they want to do when they are here, is sleep!

What a gorgeous place. I went to Melbourne in 1996 and didnĀ“t settle when I returned to England - hence living in Tenerife and Spain! I want to go back to Oz one day.

Homebird - it is a lovely house and a great location. The gardening here is quite a challenge though - given that we are in the dry tropics and on the side on a rocky hill with no soil whatsoever. There's always pros and cons with any location I suppose.

We actually receive council-supplied bore water and have to pay if we exceed our limit. The Townsville area is in a bit of a rain shadow and gets around 1000mm a year.
