These could be a waxwing, maybe Cedar Waxwing. They love to eat fruit.

Oh Wohlibuli, you're awesome! Thanks so much. I never got a look at the top of their heads to see the little crest. Yes, I think that you're right on with the name! I saw red and maybe some blue on their wings. Thanks again for solving my little puzzle. It was bothering me a little not knowing the name.

Well thank you, and you are very welcome. These are common in the east, but I do like seeing birds you have that I haven't seen since moving away from the west in the 60's. I guess I have been a birder for most of my life!

Well, I've got Sandra the succulent queen and now Wohlibuli, you're my birder. You're my go-to people when I need to know the name of succulents and birds. I tell you what I'll show you my birds and you can help me name them. Sound like a deal? I'm new to this birding thing ;~)

It's a deal T. Don't worry if I don't know a bird I have 3 others here who are just as good or better than me at ID's.

What a crisp clear photo, wish I could get a view of these birds here, only seen them once, for a few seconds before they flew off.

Sounds great, Wohlibuli :)
You know Flcrazy, this was the first time I've ever seen these birds and I was just lucky enough to have my camera on me. I wish they were a little lower in the tree and a little closer. They are very pretty, maybe I'll get another shot at taking a pic of them :)

I call these birds the nomads. They travel in flocks to where ever the food and water can be found. We have had them here for the crabapples. They especially like them after they have been frozen. They have also come around when the temp have been below freezing for a while and we had the only not frozen water (on top of the hottub cover). They also like the really thick Cedar trees to roost in.
