Amaryllis 'charmeur' opener....lol

Amaryllis 'charmeur' opener....lol (Hippeastrum papilio (Butterfly amaryllis))

A little more open after I peeled back the buds a little just in case it was holding it back. Helped a little. Not sure what else to do, at least it hasn't just dropped off. :-)

Oh it's really pretty! I just found a bargain at the grocery store...three amaryllus for 9$.... Usually 10$ for one!! I bought Picotee, Bouquet, and Maria Goretti... a white, an orange and a pink! just checked them...they have started to sprout! will have to post a pic of my new babies!

I've never seen a yellow one before! It's lovely. :-)

Lori - not sure of the exchange rate - but that still sounds like a good bargain to me!

This is a lovely colour GT.

Great deal Lori!!

That is a good deal Lori. These were $5 each, from $10 a piece. I couldn't go past them. This is more a orange cream color, the sodium lamp altered the color in this pic. Wish it would open all the way. Really slow going.

I haven't seen this color before either, I like it.

I've another pic in my garden link that shows the truer color. A nice soft orange. I can't wait to see my next two still to show their faces. That sale got me good....:-)

Hi,
Wow, what a lovely color! I'm looking for one just like this. Can you tell me where you bought it?
I've been looking all over and can't find yellow amaryllis :-(
They are all in shades of red, pink, or salmon or are either white.

I got it at a local greenhouse, charmeur is the name. It is having a little change in color in this pic due to my sodium lamp, it is more of a salmon, though on the orange side. It really is a nice color. The natural Hippeastrum papilio that occur without breeding are generally reds that they all come from.

Lori, I only got these two plus one a little later in my pages, it was rather small. This one I had to open for it for some reason. It didn't bloom under that pressure very well. Set it back.

Oh, yes, i have seen the real color in your other pictures. It is very beautiful anyway. Really astonishing!
