Welcome Jeremy! Obviously a perfect name for your location - saw a similar sight yesterday up here in north Queensland. A massive malaleuca covered in sulphur-crested cockatoos - what type are these!

I am most interested in our native plants and birds and would like to show some of our native plants to those who wish to see them. I cultivate Banksias because they are extremely hardy and quite nice to look at.

The birds in question are white corellas that fly around here in huge flocks.

Yes Jeremy - excellent fishing and excellent seafood feasts (fingermark, coral trout, barra!) Are these the Little Corellas? We don't get to see many corellas around here.

Little Corellas? Don't know. But they're quite large.

We (Shirley and my 3 sons) use to live in the Alice and every year We'd drive to FNQ (Princess Charlotte Bay) to fish for Mackeral - going to Hervy Bay in June to have a go at Tuna.

Now that's a coincidence - my husband used to go to Princess Charlotte Bay for a fishing trip every year for about 12 years during 80s and the 90s! I never went as the fishing season never seemed to coincide with my holidays!!! Good luck at Harvey Bay - lovely spot!

We seem to be collecting members from Australia! It's great, because we can look at your exotic blooms in our winter, and sigh over your (usually) blue skies and warm weather!

We is South Australia are fine (for the time being !) though there will be quite a dangerous time predicted for the weekend when the temperature is predicted to climb.

Those white Corellas - they squark well into the night - are very destructive. The local fire service bring their truck around periodically to spray them so that they take off and land on some other trees.
