Have you found a good way to dispose of the grass removed? I find that's the hardest thing!

i cut it up into strips and lay it grass side down on to of each other in a corner. cover with a tarpaulin and in six months you can reuse the soil...

Thanks Sandra, a very good idea, i did know about this one, only problems is lack of space, as you can imagine there is quite a lot of it, i already have 2 composters, and bags of leaves mulching down, my tiny greenhouse, and my various pots etc and i am all out of room in the work area, is'nt really anywhere else to put it. it has been a bit of a problem to be honest, but just by chance a young lad who is a tree feller, knocked just before christmas to ask if i needed any trees cutting, and i asked him about it, he said that they take it so i am bagging up as i go, and he will take it for me for £1 a bag, so i gues it will end up with all his tree cuttings somewhere, still recycling :-)

I have a space problem too. What I did last year was knock off as much soil as possible then put the grass in a container to dry in the sun. Have to wait for lots of sun before I can start this! Bags of compostable materials are collected by the garbagemen later in the year, but they can't be too heavy with all the clods of wet soil or the paper bags just break. Kind of a long process but about all I can do with it right now!
