We stopped for a pub lunch and after a pint of Guinness I seemed to have a little trouble getting a full picture of him - sorry I chopped off his sporran!

Fergus has a lot of Scottish influence, Highland Games are held here in the summer, and in the past they used to paint kilts on their fire hydrants!

I just found out that this was carved from a 200 year old Norwegian Maple that had to be cut down due to blight. The owners of the inn had it cut higher than normal so a carving could be made out of what was left. It is called the Breadalbane Giant.
